Ripples in Time

Time seemed to stand still as we watched the new light slowly spread over waves of sand in Death Valley, California.

Ripples in Time

“Each time a man stands for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring, those ripples build a current which can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance.”

Manley Beacon

On our trip to Death Valley we photographed at Zabrisky Point 3 times, 2 sunrises and a sunset. The 2nd sunrise we hike up a ridge in the dark to have a different perspective. This is a predawn image looking at the Beacon and into Death Valley.

Predawn Manley Beacon

Zabrisky point is a short walk from the parking lot near Furnace Wells. The view is world class. You can still see Ansel Adams photograph as well as many other famous photographers from this spot. About 20 minutes later the view looked like this...
